We havemoved!
We were lucky enough to find a central Sioux falls location right on Minnesota avenue. We will be taking appointments at first, then transitioning to more regular walk-in hours. We are working hard to bring professional orchestral repairs to Sioux Falls.
New Location?!
Being out in Tea was a great step for our business, but the location is lacking for further growth. so, in response to our list of future needs, we have scouted out a new local that is inside of Sioux Falls and on a main thoroughfare. Right on Minnesota Avenue there is a store location with a bigger workshop and showroom space, plus it has a sign for us to cultivate a stronger presence. We are hopeful this will allow us to interact with more people that are in need of our professional services.
School Repairs
if you are in need of instrument repairs please be patient during this school repair season. It is our first back here in Sioux Falls, so we are getting all the details worked out as we go. We will work with you as best we can to fit your needs.
New Year, New Us
I had posted on our social media accounts that we will be moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in the near future. It will be a positive change with plenty of benefits so it is exciting, even though it was unexpected. We will have a dedicated shop space for our work, and we will be closer to our main work sources. Good things to come.
New Year
The new year has already presented with challenges, turns, and twists that are… expected… yet, difficult for a newly minted company. We are fighting on with our dream and working hard to overcome. We have had some positive news in the midst of these challenges so it has been a roller coaster. We are hoping that the positive outweighs the negative this year and we prevail!
After Christmas looking forward to new Years
We had some good business meetings this week, and we are looking forward to what the new year may bring with collaborations and business ventures. We are trying to expand our violin business to new areas and we are working hard to bring new and exciting hand made items to you in our social media and store.
Violin Repairs Metal Working and Embroidery Art
We are working on an in depth violin repair, replacing the bottom block and cleating some cracks in the top. We had to first, undo old repairs that had been done that did not hold, and now, get in there and fix it so the customer can enjoy their violin again. I had to shorten the rib just a little, then I can start fitting a new block in it. I will be forging a stack up of 5160 and 15N20 steel to try a twist Damascus knife. Since Christmas is so close we will be adjusting the price on some of Brandi’s embroidery art, and she will be moving on to non Christmas projects. If you have any custom requests, please get in touch and she can work with you on whatever you may want!
Online sales Instrument Repairs
Brandi and I have been working hard getting inventory photographed and labeled to put online. We are hoping to go live in our store early this week. It also looks like we may have an opportunity to work with the Sioux City School systems repairing some instruments for them. We are very excited if they decide to choose our shop to do repairs for them!
Getting Products Ready for Sale
Brandi and I have been working diligently today getting some products boxed up and ready to put in the online store. They should be up early this week and we are excited to see what you think. It will be embroidery and jewelry for this upload, but we are working on more to come.
Necklace Photos
I posted some new necklace photos in the Jewelry Portfolio album today. I hope you check them out. I hope to have some items to place in the store soon!
About the Heart² Pendant
I invented the Heart² Pendant about a year ago or so after an epiphany I had trying to think of a use for all of the old cello bridges I had saved. It is named the Heart² (Heart Squared) Pendant because the shape in the center of the cello bridge is know as the Heart. So, it is a Heart within a Heart. I enjoy making them, and each one turns out unique due to the bridges I use. I will put some in our store as soon as I can!
Humane Society ASPCA
We as a company decided that going forward, we will donate a portion of our profits to the local Norkolk Nebraska Humane Society and the ASPCA. There are so many animals in need.
Grün Oak, LLC
This is a business blog by Brandi and Stefan Rieck for our business, Grün Oak, LLC. It will be used for updates and fun things we are getting up to.
Welcome to the Grün Oak Page! We will try to show some interesting work that you can check out and enjoy.
We also adjusted our price list today and uploaded the new price list to the Stringed Instrument Repair Information page.
